On a couple of occasions lately, I've had the pleasure of helping a SolidWorks user design some real threads. For whatever reason, in these cases, the wonderful cosmetic thread command just wasn't sufficient.
I've been warned in the past, and now so have you, of the impending doom that comes along with creating real threads. Unless you are running a Cray Jaguar, you are going to see performance hits when you start dropping parts with real threads into assemblies.
That said, come on over to our youtube channel and have a quick look at how to create real threads, the kind you can touch and feel, with as few features possible.
You'll be glad you did. :]
